Short Script Fireside.
|
Date: January 27th
Time: 9:00pm
Location: Louis 119
Studio 22 is hosting a Short Script Fireside geared toward Freshman and New Students interested in pitching for the New Student Grant in March. The event will be hosted by the Studio 22 Script Co-Chairs who will be going over a variety of topics in screenwriting to help students be more successful in practical writing, especially for the 5-page script (the length of the New Student Scripts)
Topics will include: Structure of short scripts, feasibility, use of cliché elements, the economics of screenwriting, successful characters in short films, and examples of successful shorts.

Submit your Scripts/Short Stories.
|
Click HERE to go to our Scripts page!
Studio 22 wants to connect screenwriters with directors! The English department, theater department, creative writing for the media, film MFAs, etc. all work so hard on their writings and then put them in some folder on their computer to be forgotten about until a big Hollywood producer comes along asking for portfolios, while film students interested in directing struggle to find solid work to make into a film.
Studio 22 has set up a system on our website (Scripts) where writers can submit their scripts and directors can browse the synopses, network with writers that would otherwise be uninvolved with the student film world, and create some astonishing pieces.
Here’s how it works: Anyone with a script, short story, or play can upload their piece with a synopsis. Within 24 hours the synopsis will be posted on our Scripts page where directors can view them. If a director is interested, he/she will be able to contact the writer via email and request the rest of the script. (To avoid any sort of plagiarism/copyright issues, only the synopses will be posted on our website and only the writer has the authority to hand-off the entire script to an interested director.)
However, first thing’s first, we need content, so upload your scripts!!!

November Newsletter.

We’ve had a great fall quarter thus far, here at Studio 22. Our fall grants have wrapped up their weekends of production and have begun their post-production phases. We would like to congratulate Running Fox, Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft, and Digital Decay, and the tremendous amounts of work their crews put in this fall. We are very excited to see the films continue to develop in the coming months.
In addition, our executive board made it through another competitive round of pitches to select our winter projects. Congratulations to the production teams of our Bindley Grant, Moment Capacity, and our $1000 Mini Grant, Yellow Room, on their strong pitches and projects. The films have already held their crew head petitions and will be holding general crew petitions next week. Make sure to come out to work on our winter quarter films! We are very excited to work with these projects as they begin pre-production. read more… |
