The Bindley Grant – Moment Capacity

Moment Capacity is a drama set in a small-town, which explores the universal struggle of empathy.

CHRISTY, a despondent young woman, escapes a bad relationship and returns to her small-town home, hoping to find stability and a new beginning. But she discovers TOM, one of her dad’s war buddies, is in town for a visit. Her parents seem ill-equipped to deal with her depression – especially when they find out she’s pregnant. When she later suffers a miscarriage, she finds little solace in her parents’ clumsy attempts at empathy, but a small measure of hope in her connection with Tom.

The Winter Mini Grant – Yellow Room

A young man, George, enters a yellow-wallpapered room to renovate it and is entranced by images of a woman projected through cracks in the wall. The woman is ill images follow her in this room as she grows more sick and demented until she collapses and the light goes out. George tears the wallpaper off the walls revealing images of the woman, his mother, before her illness and he is able to repaint the room blue and leave it in peace.

Running Fox: Cast; post-production

An irreverent comedy about Henry, a fearless eleven year old boy with a Native American/Serial Killer mentor who is caught at school with a human bone. Henry takes it upon himself to stop the pedophile gripping his town in fear. Spouting facts about the violent colonization of the Native Americans, Henry commits multiple felonies in the name of good, as he learns an important lesson about individualism.

Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft: Cast; production

Calling Occupants is a short film lovingly set in the golden age of alien contact movies, the 1980s, about a young boy who dreams of contacting extra terrestrials from his backyard.

Digital Decay: Cast; post production

Digital Decay is an experimental science fiction film that delves into media’s transition from film to digital. We will explore this theme through several mediums: 16 mm black and white film, digital, found footage, projections, and more.

Synopsis: In the 1960s, a 12-year old boy and his parents were sent into space on an undocumented mission. They took with them a collection of home movies, as well as popular television shows and commercials from the time. It is now the year 2009, and his parents have been dead for nine years. After having not received a shipment from mission control in years, he suddenly receives a VHS player and a DVD player with a collection of videos. In watching them, he discovers that times have changed.
